Danielle Says…

I really love the trend we are now seeing of spaces using warmer tones. That trend definitely inspired this room – a cozy yet refined family space. Amber Interiors has been a huge inspiration for me lately. Her spaces are all unique, and never one specific style. Some are modern and some more traditional, but she always layers texture, pattern, and colour, creating interiors that are really warm and inviting.

This space is multifunctional. I have run into many living rooms that are quite long, and my clients have found them hard to furnish. In spaces like these, I find it useful to create zones or conversation areas. This allows for a living room that functions well for adults and children, entertaining and family time! Gone are the days of formal living rooms that are only used twice a year!

The Ruskin Sectional is spacious and cozy yet stylish and structured. You want a sofa that you can curl up in, but also sit comfortably to have a conversation while not feeling like you are sinking in.

The dark stain and metal accents of the Ghery II Cabinet add that character and charm to the space. I love mixing new and old pieces, and this cabinet gives that antique feel to the room, and a perfect place to display your favourite keepsakes.

The Langston Dining Chairs are perfect accent chairs that can be moved around the space, or your dining room, as needed! The texture and colour of the faux leather is so lovely – and easy to clean!

The Domingo coffee table adds that pop and excitement to the room. Its fun to mix metals, and the combination of the marble top and antique gold finish base adds another touch of vintage to the space, although the shape and style are quite modern!

When placing two rugs in one room close together, try to focus on scale and pattern. The Burrow rug has lots of texture and movement, but a super subtle striped pattern. We bring colour into the space with the Dante rug with a bigger Oriental pattern – I great combo that doesn’t overwhelm the space, but rather, complements each other!

This is the perfect room for the large family who likes to entertain. I want them to feel at home in this space.
