The room is all about neutral tones and natural textures. The light color palette mixed with the variation of texture around the room creates the perfect balance. This bright and airy space is grounded by the muted yet colorful rug and heavy accent furniture pieces, making for a harmonious and relaxing living space.
This is a perfect space for someone that loves to start and end their day with peace of mind. It’s a calming casual space to have a coffee in the morning while enjoying the view and doubles as a sophisticated space to gather for a glass of wine (preferably white wine for obvious reasons).
This space was created to encourage relaxation, it’s a creative take on indoor-outdoor living. This look was first inspired by the South Port armchair. Although it is made to be an outdoor lounge chair, I think the set of two made the perfect accent moment for this outdoor-inspired living space. The light wood gives an airy yet structured look. Pairing those outdoor chairs with the clean and simple Cameron sofa makes for a very balanced look.
The furniture and decor were chosen for this living space accent nature and the view seen beyond the windows of the space.Kristen McGowan
Choosing this simple sofa was an intentional part of the design to ensure the decor and accent pieces were highlighted in harmony. Another key piece to this look is the Hesper Distressed Contemporary Floral Lattice Rug. I chose it for its distressed yet classic look. It’s a modern twist on a classic pattern and allows a small amount of color to peek through adding an unexpected feature to the space.
Another essential part of the look is the heavy round Ryan Coffee Table. I love what a round table does to the circulation of a space. This simple piece creates an anchor to the light furniture surrounding.
To ensure the style flows throughout the space, natural and highly textured wall decor was chosen. The white round coral plaques and Solari wall hanging are perfect ways to add texture and interest to a light and airy space.
When designing a living room you cannot forget to layer lighting. The main lighting fixture I chose for this space is the Acerra Woven Wicker Pendant Light With Hand-woven Shade. It appears to be substantial yet light and helps continue that whimsical outdoorsy look up towards the ceiling to complete the design.
The goal is to make someone feel fully at ease in this space. I want this space to embody relaxation and comfort at its finest.
